Are you interested in learning more about the financial industry and better preparing yourself for your future at your chosen college and having the opportunity to win $7,500 in college scholarships?

During the one-day Bank Day program, you will learn about banking, financial services, career opportunities in the industry and the ways banks support the communities they serve.

Students will be connected with a host bank that will host students for a Bank Day experience as well as provide support throughout the program. Students will write an essay based on what they learned, and these essays will be judged by bankers from across the Commonwealth.

Essay Topic:

“What did you learn during Bank Day that will help you manage your financial future and what did you learn about how banks support their communities?”

Scholarship Amounts:

  • $1,000 Each for Six Honorable Mention Winners
  • $2,500 Each for Six Regional Winners
  • $5,000 Statewide Winner (Earning $7,500 Total!)

Thirteen scholarships (six honorable mention, six regional and one statewide) will be awarded!
Each of the six regional winners receive a $2,500 college scholarship. These winners will then go on to be entered into a statewide contest for a chance to win an additional $5,000 college scholarship as the overall winner, for a total of $7,500. There are also six honorable mention winners who each receive a $1,000 college scholarship.

Participation Criteria:

  • Currently Enrolled as a High School Senior in a Virginia High School
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or Higher
  • Resident of Virginia
  • Must attend a high school in Virginia.
    • Homeschool students are eligible to participate, assuming her or she is equivalent to a high school senior and meets the above criteria.
